Thursday Things: Colorless green ideas sleep furiously

“Colorless green ideas,” you may be thinking.  “what the … what?”

So … here’s your random science-ish fact of the day:

“Colorless green ideas sleep furiously” is a sentence composed by Noam Chomsky as an example of a sentence that is grammatically correct, but semantically  nonsensical. The term was originally used in his 1955 thesis “Logical Structures of Linguistic Theory”. Although the sentence is grammatically correct, no obvious understandable meaning can be derived from it, and thus it demonstrates the distinction between syntax and semantics.” (Source: Wikipedia)

You’re welcome…

Anyways, all of that to say that I’m on an emerald green kick recently.  Here are a few things I’m loving lately…

Ann Taylor Side Button Asymmetric Tunic Sweater in Ivy League Green

Love it.

Express Portofino Shirt in Aspen Green.

I picked this shirt up in purple after I found one that was randomly marked down to $12.  Not sure why … maybe a loose thread that I overlooked… Haha.

Any suggestions on how to wear this for work or play going into the winter?  It seems sort of lightweight and sheer.

Revlon “Moon Candy” in Cosmic.

I actually own this polish in the Galactic color, which is a deep navy blue with aqua glittery sparkles. It’s fun to have sparkly nails. 🙂

Kate Spade Mug.  (Actually, I want all of the Kate Spade things, but that is another story blog post.)

Not that I need any more coffee mugs.   I just bought this one over the summer:

sur la table fat cat mug.  not green (obviously).

Are you as green-obsessed as I am?
